Hello! I couldn't agree more about the positive developmental benefits of open-ended and unscripted play. Have you seen Tegu magnetic wooden building blocks? At www.tegu.com they have tried to reinvent the wooden block by introducing magnets. The result is what some would call a 'wooden lego', and I have found them to be more addictive than both traditional building blocks and plastic magnetic toys.
